FAIRER THAN FAIR TRADE
Whilst we don’t have a shiny sticker on our coffee bags, we offer some of the highest prices to farmers in the world. On average, farmers who work with Qima receive over 400% higher prices than they would receive in the international coffee market. To receive Fair Trade certification, farmers need only receive marginally higher prices than the international coffee market. Unfortunately this does nothing to break a farmer out of poverty. So frankly, we’re not convinced by the stickers.

ONE COFFEE TREE PER CUP
Sourcing and planting coffee trees is one of the most overlooked areas of coffee development work, and without coffee trees, there can be no coffee beans. Our “Coffee Tree Per Cup” programme in partnership with Qima Foundation supports farmers gain access to suitable coffee trees, contributing to their future prosperity. For every cup of coffee sold, Qima will donate a young coffee tree to a farmer.
COFFEE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Qima Café donates at least 10% of its profits to the charitable Qima Foundation to be spent on coffee development projects targeting vulnerable coffee growing communities in Yemen, Colombia and Ecuador. The projects focus on sustainable agriculture, education and gender justice.
